The
Authors
Janet
P. Penley, founder
and developer of Mothers of Many Styles, has led more than 550
workshops on personality type and mothering issues, nationally,
since 1988. The mother of two (son, 25; daughter, 22), she has
used personality type information in her own parenting and built
a loyal following of mothers, life coaches, therapists, and corporations
who use her materials. Her mission is to support mothers in being
their best and truest selves by letting go of the myths of motherhood
and discovering and embracing their natural strengths. MotherStyles embodies
her life’s work - over 18 years of research, study, and observation.
She has a BA in Psychology from Washington University, an MBA from University
of Michigan, and is qualified to administer and interpret the Myers-Briggs
Type Indicator® Instrument. A thirty-year resident of Chicago, she
recently moved to San Antonio, Texas with her husband.
Diane Eble met Janet in 1993 at a talk
Janet gave to her mothering group. A mom of two children, 10 and 15,
Diane has experienced firsthand the value o f
the MotherStyles approach
to mothering. With 28 years of publishing experience —author of
eleven books, more than 300 magazine articles, editor, and copywriter—and
trained in using the MBTI® instrument, Diane brings polish and passion
to Janet’s material. Diane graduated from the University of Connecticut
summa cum laude as a University Scholar. She is currently a writing
coach and lives with outside of Chicago with her husband,
two children, and two cats.
